Depuis que j'ai un ordinateur, c'est-à-dire depuis environ une dizaine
d'années, je ramasse les idées musicales qui me trottent dans l'esprit.
J'ai essayé plusieurs logiciels mais le son que j'obtenais n'étais jamais
satisfaisant. Cependant, aujourd'hui, je ne suis plus contraint à rester
sous le joug des sons synthétiques. En effet, j'ai décidé de reprendre
toutes mes compositions et de les refaire en jouant de vrais instruments.
Ainsi j'obtiens un son adéquat et constant. |
Some words to begin...
Since I have got a computer, about ten years from
today, I am keeping all ideas passing through my mind. I have passed over
many softwares in order to reach the perfect sound but synthetic sounds
are always sounding synthetic! But today, I am no longer forced to play
with synthetized sounds since I have got all the real instruments.
In that way, I am getting the real sound I have always aimed for. |
| Pourquoi un
album ? Au début de la présente année, j'ai réalisé que je ne faisais rien de spécial, rien qui ne sorte de l'ordinaire. En fait, je ne faisais, comme la plupart des gens, que perdre mon temps à écouter la télévision ou encore à passer d'interminables heures devant l'ordinateur. Je me suis dit alors pourquoi ne ferais-je pas quelque chose de constructif, je n'irais pas jusqu'à dire utile mais, à tout le moins quelque chose qui me resterait, quelque chose de concret dont je pourrais être fier? C'est donc à ce moment que j'ai décidé de ressortir toutes les compositions, terminées ou pas que j'avais faites au cours des dernières années, et de les travailler à mon goût pour pouvoir en faire un travail complété et d'ensuite pouvoir passer à autre chose. À ce moment je me suis donc fixé comme objectif de compléter une chanson par semaine. Objectif que j'ai eu un peu de mal à maintenir mais qui quand même m'a aidé à terminer le travail dans un délai raisonnable. En passant, je ne me prends pas au sérieux et je suis capable de rire de moi même, peut-être que tout cela paraît prétentieux mais il n'en ait rien. Il y a même quelques chansons sur lequelles je chante et pourtant je n'ai pas de voix. C'est ça qui est drôle!! J'ai fait cet album pour mon plaisir et mon accomplissement personnel! Je l'ai tout de même fait du mieux que j'ai pu, le plus professionnellement possible, avec le matériel, le temps et le petit peu de talent que j'avais. À vous de faire la part des choses. |
Why an album ? The new year was just beginning, while I realized that my life was nothing but working, watching TV, and playing during hours on the computer. That was enough! Why do I had to spend my spare time doing nothing but losing it consciously? Since that revelation, I asked me why not to do something very interesting and concrete at the time that I can be proud of? That day, I browse all my old backup CD's in order to find all the songs I 've made all over the last 10 years. I've decided to work on them to render them like I was earing them in my head at the time I was composing. Unfortunatly at this time I was not able to have the sound I wish because I was confined to the computer's sounds. So after, I will be able to stop looking behind and think to something new and different. I've decided to complete one song a week, that was my first goal, I had some difficulties reaching that target but that has helped me finishing the album on time. I hope you don't think that I'm very serious with that project, yes it's important for me, but I'm also able to laugh at me. There is some songs on the album I'm singing on and I actually know that I'm not a very good singer. That is very funny! I did this album as a hobby and for my personal accomplishment. I did it the better as I can with the hardware, the time and the little talent I had. It's up to you to have the right discernement about this musical album! |
| Qui suis-je ? Je suis un gars natif de la région du Saguenay, j'y vis toujours et j'ai vingt-quatre ans. J'ai obtenu mon D.E.C. en techniques de génie mécanique au Cégep de Jonquière au printemps 1999. Depuis ce temps, je travaille dans ce domaine et j'ai travaillé pour diverses compagnies; Canmec Pâtes et Papier, Soudure et Chaînes Pedno, et maintenant, je travaille pour la compagnie BPR-Bechtel. Dans mes temps libres vous l'avez peut-être deviné, je joue de la musique, je suis batteur, je m'amuse sur l'ordinateur; musique, retouche photo, montage vidéo, animation 3D, pages web et j'écoute la télé de temps en temps. Voici d'ailleurs un lien sur le site du groupe avec lequel je joue, vous pourrez trouver sur ce site quelques chansons que l'on joue en format MP3. |
Who I am ? I'm from Saguenay region , I'm 24 years old and still living there. I've got my mechanical technician's collegial diploma at Cégep de Jonquière spring 1999. Since, I've worked at Canmec Pulp and Paper, SCP89, and now I'm working for BPR-Bechtel, since autumn 2001. I'm filling my spare time doing many things like playing music. I'm a drummer. On my computer, I'm making music, photo and video editing, 3D animation and web page design. I'm also watching TV sometimes. Below is a link on the web page of the band I'm playing with.
